review 1: Sand Castle Bay is by Sheryl Woods. It is an Ocean Breeze novel. Like her other books, it is character-driven. Emily Castle is headed home. A hurricane is headed for the island home where she grew up with her grandmother and her two sisters. Would there be anything left of the café around which their lives revolved. How long would she have to be gone to make sure the replacement is just right. However, heading home is very emotional. Would she have to run into Boone Dorsett, her first and only love. He broke her heart when she left the island to fulfill her dream of becoming an interior decorator. Boone Dorsett does not want to see Emily. After all these years, does she still have the power to hurt him? After all, he did get married and has a son he is raising aft... moreer Jenny’s death. Can he be around Emily long enough to help her grandmother? Ms Cora Jane is the girls’ grandmother as well as the owner of the popular Castle’s By The Sea restaurant. She is very concerned with the love lives (or lack of one) for her girls and Boone. She can start off with rebuilding Castle’s By the Sea with the help of her three granddaughters and with Boone’s help. Can she get the two of them to see they are right for each other and that Emily can still do her interior decorating from home.
review 2: I can't say I liked this book very much. I finished it, but Emily, the female lead was a spoiled brat and pretty hard to take at first. This couple spend more time causing trouble than anything else and the ending tied up in a bow very quickly. I was looking for a series I could care about like a Robyn Carr or Marie Force series, but these characters don't endear themselves to you at all. It will be pretty quickly forgotten. less
