review 1: I truly enjoyed this book -- The Inn at Eagle Point -- the first book I read by Sherryl Woods. I liked Abby the character as a single mom of cute twin girls and later confounded by her disorganized sister and her long-lost love Trace Riley.Woods wrote Abby's character well with typical first-born traits and yet conveyed such a warm family empathy. I liked that the divorced parents began to broach years of cutoff, and came to celebrate the Inn now run by Abby's sister Jess.Abby/Trace love story had some steam to it, which I like to see when I read a book like this for escape. I wanted to learn more about the parents rekindling their relationship -- Megan and Mick O'Brien. So I read another book by Woods, which was Chesapeake Shores Christmas, and unfortunately, I though... moret it could have been so much stronger of a love story there.
review 2: Wish I hadn't wasted my time finishing this book. The writing was just blah, the characters were annoying, and the story was predictable. I wanted an easy read that was sort of an escape, and I liked the setting of the book, but the writing really put me off. Perhaps it comes with the style, but I'm looking for something a little more substantial. If the characters weren't so annoying, I might have had a different opinion. less
