review 1: Jess O'Brian was introduced in the very first Chesapeake Shores book. I suppose it's nice to see characters from previous stories develop in their personal lives and relationships. This book did a slightly better job of moving the relationship along at a bearable pace while the characters worked through deep-seeded issues. Despite the happy endings of each novel, I've been discouraged by how much drama they all had to go through in order to make it work. Are there no stories of people who deal with regular dating drama? Maybe when it comes to the story of Connie and the uncle. Also, I was pretty frustrated to see the author drop names when it comes to Habitat for Humanity and ADHD without really getting into the meat of either situation. They are used as minimal tools... more or excuses instead of being given the development either deserves for readers to undertand what they are really about.
review 2: I must agree with the other reviews that this book was more infuriating at times than I would have preferred or other books made me feel. I believe that Jess's situation could have been majorly overplayed and some of the things they were trying to point out are just simple mistakes that even every day people make rather than part of her issue. I kept feeling the need to scream JUST GET OVER IT as I kept reading about the poor Jess O'Brien and to just get along with the story!I still love the series and can't wait for the next though! less
