review 1: The typical formula (or expectation) for a romance suspense is that the mystery/suspense involves one or both of the characters. In the case of this book, the suspense starts in the house of the heroine, but the H/h are not actually involved in the suspenseful event forming the main plot mover in this book. The H/h are of course impacted by the mystery, but they themselves are not really part of the mystery. I found that to be interesting, and I would have given this book a higher review if that was the only "twist" for the book.The other "twist" of this book was that there was no answer for the unsolved mystery. That fact in itself might not have bothered me that much either, but the two "twists" added together made this an oddly unfulfilling reading experience for me... more. The main mystery doesn't quite involve the H/h, and then the mystery remains unresolved. I finish the book feeling like the mystery and the H/h could have been broken up into two books. It reads as an odd romance suspense for me.
review 2: Trinity and her son Micah move into a big house that needs repairs. Noah is a general contractor who is helping with the renovations. When Trinity falls through the floor, they discover a decomposed body. Fifteen yrs ago Noah's girlfriend Lana, a boy named David and the Sutter's, who owned the house at the time all disappeared. Blood was found on the window and floors but no bodies. A lot of secrets are about to be revealed and some of the town's citizens are going down.There was sexual attraction between Trinity and Noah. A reviewer was quoted as saying " the sex is sizzling". There was only one sex scene and a couple of dreams. Now it will keep you in suspense but it is a cliffhanger. less
