review 1: I Thought It Was You by Shiloh WalkerFriendship, separation, and obedience takes on a sensual spin in the short story I Thought It Was You by Shiloh Walker. It is a fairy tale for adults of three hearts that must follow the directive from the “chief” and no longer can be friends with benefits. Who knew guardian angels did these naughty things?Ren and Elle previous involvements complicate manners as Elle must be with Michael. Ren jealousy a very human quality rears its ugly head and finds it hard to be without Elle. Many years of sharing almost everything from working on guardian assignments with each must come to an end. Everyone has a predetermined mission and that must be carried regardless. Will Ren be able to close the door to the emotions and moments of int... moreimacies shared with Elle? How will Michael handle this complicated situation of the loose ends Ren has with Elle? Is there a way to make everyone happy? Ms. Walker has created a short story of wild carnal actions~a menage with angels no less. This is an adult read. The sex scene is well written. Ms. Walker has the technique to bring forth a wonderfully erotic tale but it can't be appreciated in its fullness because there are many broken into pieces making relating, connecting with the characters and story's plot, resolution nearly impossible to grip.I personally did not find much going on past the sex scenes and light dialogue between characters. This short story is a segment of a series and if read out of sequential order you will not be able to connect the dots to make a coherent tale. I could not develop a relationship with the characters, were they strangers to me. It seemed as if I was little kid peeking into key hole of a closed door after hearing strange sounds. I Thought It Was You is short, fast, naughty read that can be entertaining while waiting to be called next in the nail, hair salon or doctors appointment. The sensual scenes may elevate your blood pressure so maybe it should not be read waiting to see the doctor. :-)
review 2: This book was free at Barnes and Noble. It's a quick read, featuring characters that are apparently prominent in other books of the series. While it doesn't have much depth - it's mostly just a menage scene - it did whet my appetite for more of the series. This is just a segway between storylines, I think. It was good for what it was, but don't expect much from it since it only clocks in around 30-something pages. less
