review 1: Hannah demanded that I read this book. :) It was a fun, clever combination of fantasy & fairy tale, and World War II history. Didn't see that one coming, eh? It was a sweet intro romance as well. Slayton created a side story of a friend of Cinderella's who protected her dress when it was threatened. That role was passed down through her friend's family until the time of the novel when Katie Allen discovers her family's secret role. The implications are definitely fun and entertaining and Slayton's story telling sucks the reader in effectively.
review 2: I love how the classic tale of Cinderella is true in this book. I like how Johnney was able to always forgive Kate after what she stupidly says to him and that he was let into the family secret. I thought that s... morehe had done the right thing by showing off the dresses, they were ment to be showed off, and if it wasn't for the step brothers side of the family than it would not have to be such a secret. less
