review 1: The thing is, I expected so much from this book. And I was disappointed. Bigtime. I haven't enjoyed reading it, I haven't laugh and not once did I even think of smiling. I haven't fall in love with their "love". And I just think that the plot was not quite believable. Alex is 17. He is in a gang. A drop dead gorgeous Mexican. Loves his family so much and protects them with his life. (I know this is possible) but for him to even excel in his studies is just too much to take in. But if it makes it any better, the ending was quite good. And Peterson is my favorite character in this book.

... morey, unbelievable types, but the fact that this book was supposed to be realistic just put me off. The characters seemed fake and I just couldn't sympathise with them. If you like extremely cheesy, over-the-top love stories, this is for you. If you like cute, romantic love stories, I would suggest reading Sarah Dessen! less
