review 1: Follows short story erotic formula. - Set up meet between people, woman thinks about relationship, they have sex, hint about future (happily ever after implied).Problems (1) no explanation is given for the setting (the billionaires club), which is kind of required for the first book of a series. (2) characters are not consistent - woman goes from drab to fatale with a change of clothes and man goes from power to crumbling confusion after sticking his pole in a hole. (3) only one sex scene which is vanilla and doesn't have any uniqueness based on the people involved or forwarding the plot.The story needed either more story or more sex. The one sex scene could have been closed door and would not have changed the story at all - or, the sex scene could have been the only thing... more in the story and the plot would not have changed at all.Giving it two stars because it does follow the formula - it is what it meant to be.Got from Kindle during free promotion.
review 2: The story used a lot of description, which brought you into the story, but the characters weren't very relatable, and I found the story quite unbelievable. Nevertheless, if your goal in reading is to escape to a different world than your own, this very brief novella at least sets you up for that. Although it ends abruptly, it leads the reader to believe that there will be more forthcoming. I think what would've been nice is more explanation about the billionaire boys club. There were many opportunities to give the reader more before jumping straight to the sex. I guess the main question here is "Would I read the sequel?". My answer would be probably not. I didn't have that major connection to the characters, so it didn't endear them to me. Simone Holloway is a good writer; I just think she needs to expand her story more and give the reader more information about her characters. I wanted to like them, but it was over before I had the chance. less
