review 1: I read the reviews prior to writing up my own. To be honest, I have never read a book similar to this one. The Godslayer had me captivated and I kept trying to get a firm grip on Elise's ultimate purpose in life. I have to agree that the relationship between James and Elise is disappointing, with that said I quickly came to the conclusion that it would never come to pass. For me it was pretty clear that it was a dead end.Now for the real feel....This book reads like a role playing game which totally pulled me through each book. I took my time delving through each book. A little treat that I thoroughly enjoyed.Ultimately I stuck with five stars. The story goes up and down, through twists and turns that I really enjoyed reading. I am very fond of Elise. She is a Godslayer w... moreith the needs and weaknesses of a woman yet she doesn't and hasn't been given the chance to live a normal human life.
review 2: This is another book I have such mixed feelings about. I initially didn't care too much for it, it seemed confusing with the world building and moving between past and present. I didn't really connect with Elise totally and James seemed like he really didn't care for Elise's feelings like he should. Not a fan of her and Anthony together although Anthony himself was endearing. Part of me wants her with James, but part of me doesn't. I am totally intrigued with Thom and kind of hope maybe he could be the one for her despite maybe being "evil". I hated Stephanie and was so annoyed that James did not deal with Elise's feelings about that. I also felt like there was so much we didn't get to find out that three books in we should have. I mean we don't know what's up with Elise's hands but when Anthony asks the author tells him, but not the reader, frustrating! Having said all of that by the end I was really invested in the story and Elise had grown into someone I cared about. I want to read the next book and the one after but I am worried Elise won't get her HEA and that would disappoint me. less

Thought the storyline was good, pace was good, but it did feel a bit muddled in places
