review 1: Ho fatto fatica a scrivere un commento su questo 'romanzo' e soprattutto a valutarlo. Inizialmente credevo di non farcela ad andare avanti, colpa anche della traduzione che spesso mi ha inorridito. Sono dell'avviso che non sia un libro per tutti, anzi direi che sia quel tipo di lettura adatto a chi ha già letto qualcosa del genere e non mi riferisco ovviamente alle sfumature. Superati i primo capitoli però la curiosità ha preso io sopravvento e alla fine sono contenta di aver assecondato il mio istinto perché, sebbene sia a tratti sconvolgente, la storie mi è piaciuta, lo stile un po meno. Quattro stelline perché è realistico e ben costruito.
review 2: It started off slow and I wasn't sure I would enjoy it. I could put it down but the further I read, the... more more questions I had and the harder it became to put down. It gives you a view point of being a submissive but wow, not what I expected. Playing is fine but part of this was beyond playing. And yet, she was turned on by the torture. Fifty Shades didn't seem to cross the line as this one did. In the end, I enjoyed it but I am still baffled by her treatment. It's hard for me to decide if this is abuse or pleasure -there really is a very fine line. It definitely gave me an alternate view of the lifestyle and still leaves me curious. I consider myself fairly open minded. I get the need to feel loved...I just think James doesn't tend to her wounds afterwards. I wish I could put that kind of trust in someone- I think it would make the relationship amazing. Also - it is written in British English less
