review 1: British retired widow under pressure by her son to sell her home and move into a retirement community decides to hunt down her WW II beau who disappeared from her life suddenly after returning to the United States after the war. She contacts long lost cousin who lives in New York City suburbs and embarks on an adventure of a lifetime. Immensely entertaining, funny, insightful. About family relationships, growing older, pursuing dreams. A very satisfying read. Short chapters make it the perfect format for someone (like a busy mom) to read in short bursts without losing the threads of the story.

... morearacter Daisy - every family should have a Daisy in it! The author wrote the book half in full, complete sentences and the other half in phrases. It felt choppy and awkward to read at first, not poorly written mind you, but just difficult to go along with. I wouldn't choose to read another book written in this style but the story was delightful enough to make it worth it this once. less
