Beware – Side effects of Pain-killers !!

Interesting to know…  PANADOL : A close associate working in a hospital  along with a team of doctors, planning to set up a database of its patients analysed the side effects of Pain-killers. The doctors themselves are not willing to take PANADOL / PARACETAMOL whenever they have a headache..  In fact, they will try some Herbal Medicine or find other alternatives. This is because Panadol is toxic to the body, and it harms the liver. According to the doctors,  Panadol will remain in the body for at least 5 years…..!!

They cited a few examples : there was an air-hostess who consumed lots of Panadol as she needed to stand all the time and work under lots of pressure. She’s now in her early 30’s, and she is undergoing kidney cleaning (DIALYSIS) every month. As Panadol is a pain killer, the more Panadol you take, the lesser would be your threshold for pain (your endurance level for pain). We all will fall sick often as we grow older.   Imagine that we spend our entire life popping quite a substantial amount of Panadol (Pain Killer), and when you need to have a surgery or operation, you will need more amount of general anaesthesia. Whenever we have a headache, we don’t realise that it is simply due to the electron / Ion imbalance in the brain. An alternative solution to cope with headache is to Drink lots of water. Another method will be to submerge your feet in a basin of warm water so that it brings the blood pressure down from your throbbing head. The thought is scary enough to turn me to take Herbal Medicines or find out other healthier alternatives. Painkillers have also affected the “Death” rituals of Parsis:    Parsi Community in India used to take their Dead and lay them to rest @ huge ‘Wind Towers’ (round structures that Look like Giant Water reservoirs, but open to the air)…The Parsees never buried their dead, nor burned them.  They used to just leave them to the Birds of Prey (Vultures) to be eaten thus completing the Life Cycle.. i.e. returning our body back to Mother Earth after death

Zoroastrian tradition considers a dead body (in addition to cut hair and nail parings) to be nasu, unclean, i.e. potential pollutants. Specifically, the corpse demon (Avestan: nasu.daeva) was believed to rush into the body and contaminate everything it came into contact with, hence the Vendidad (an ecclesiastical code “given against the demons”) has rules for disposing of the dead as safely as possible.

To preclude the pollution of earth or fire (Zam and Atar respectively), the bodies of the dead are placed atop a tower and so exposed to the sun and to scavenging birds. Thus, “putrefaction with all its concomitant evils… is most effectually prevented.”

Around 10 years ago, it was noticed that slowly the Birds are dying off. Not many of them were left to consume the dead bodies (which started rotting away)… So, the Parsees had to change this mode of dealing with their dead.. BUT, they were curious to know why a Custom that existed easily for hundreds of years, slowly had to be suspended??? They did Autopsies on the Dead Birds (they were dying in huge numbers)..What was the Culprit???  PARACETAMOL (PANADOL) / CROCIN or METACIN…!! People have started consuming pain-killers a decade ago,  Panadol STAYS in the Liver for a Long Time… It ultimately accumulated in the Birds’ systems, they could not cope with it and started dying ! The few surviving birds are often unable to fully consume the bodies; Parsi communities in India were evaluating captive breeding of vultures and the use of “solar concentrators” (which are essentially large mirrors) to accelerate decomposition. Some have been forced to resort to burial, as the solar collectors work only in clear weather. Vultures used to dispose of a body in minutes, and no other method has proved fully effective. Following the rapid expansion of the Indian cities, the “tower of silence” buildings are today in or near population centers, but separated from the metropolitan bustle by gardens or forests. In Parsi Zoroastrian tradition, exposure of the dead is also considered to be an individual’s final act of charity, providing the birds with what would otherwise be destroyed. Long-Term Effects of Painkillers…. There are a number of unpleasant side effects associated with painkiller abuse. Mild side effects include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, usually caused by the way the drug interacts with opioid receptors along the digestive tract. Value your health, value your life, THINK TWICE before you easily pop that familiar pill into your mouth again. Please try and avoid pain-killers as much as possible, also try to make people around you aware !! Advertisements Share this:
