review 1: Found out about Stacey Mostellers books via another author Holly Ward,Lyric is running away from her past she has just found out her fiance was sleeping with someone else and her controlling mother who tells her that it is ok for him to do that {in what world is that ok},After fleeing to Nashville where no one knows of her past but her friend Anna, she meets David {another book boyfriend} who owns his own bar, he's cute and adorable.Lyric and David are happy until Lyric stumbles across a secret that if she tells it would ruin everything so once all is revealed Lyric runs back to Manhatten............................ what will ahppen with David and Lyric well you just gonna have to read and find out
review 2: Was this book even serious? I had so many issues with
... more it, I'm not sure where to begin.I can be a total editing snob, I know this. But, this book was in desperate need of a good editing. There were mistakes all through, from punctuation to misused words to typos. Over half of the exclamation points should have been removed. No one is that enthusiastic. And sometimes the breaks between action within the chapters felt a bit off, like there didn't need to be that physical separation of the paragraphs, just move on to the next, it flowed fine without that break. As for the characters themselves, I found Lyric to be a total door mat. She let everyone walk all over her: Matt, her mother, SB, Jeremy, even David to some extents. Reading the characters in general, I found it very hard to believe they were the ages portrayed, they all acted much, much younger. SB acted like a spoiled bratty teenager, and David and Jeremy didn't come off as the 31 they were said to be. Lyric's mother was a piece of work into herself. Blaming Lyric for the demise of her relationship with Matt because of social standing? It's Manhattan, there's plenty more people, probably with better social standing, to be had. Please. In the end, I skimmed. I was so annoyed by everything, especially David and all his "darlin's." I also couldn't believe how Lyric just let him kiss her like he did without even going on a first date. I'm from the South, and I've never encountered men who did that. I probably would have been turned off, I didn't find it charming, I found it creepy. I will not be moving on in this series. less

Most first books from a new author don't seem to do well. This book is a good read.
