review 1: I gave up on this book half-way through. The plot was totally UN-original. The dialogue was drab. The sex scenes were typical and unoriginal. If the writer thinks that using whipped cream is a novel idea, then she needs to read the several other books I've read in which whipped cream is mentioned. The male character, Jared, is another hotel owner with business wits. Annabelle is an antique shop owner who possesses erotic art. Both are totally unoriginal ideas as far as occupations are concerned. There was nothing holding me to the story that made me want to know what happens in the end.
review 2: 2.5 starsThere was a lot of sex in this. Like, a lot. It was basically: short scene of hero or heroine thinking about their (or their parents') sex lives, long... more sex scene, repeat. Plus a couple of menage scenes that seemed to be there more for titillation than to develop the romance -- although I fully admit I could be wrong about that, given the heroine's parents and the hero's past relationship with their third. (The hero seems to be of the "I'm not gay, I just prefer to have sex with the same woman as my best friend, at the same time, and have done for years. But nope, not at all gay, not us" school.) But if the man the h/h invite into their bed is part of their development as a couple, it doesn't seem to happen within this story.Other than all the sex... uh, don't think too hard about it. I don't remember details, but I do remember stopping several times trying to figure out how something made sense and realizing that logical consistency is not a primary goal of the story.Overall, it was ok, but I'm glad I got it at a promotional price. The retail price of $10+ is absurd. less
