review 1: I didn't like how Persephone was portrayed in this novel. She was naive and a bit amusing at the first part, and then turned whiny and spoiled the next. I hated how she hurt Hades' feelings over and over again. I know she pushed him away due to Demeter's mind games when she was young. I also wanted to punch Demeter's face in this whole novel and really wished I could. But I liked how the author changed the end, instead of the 6-6 month separation, Hades and Persephone stayed together while Demeter accepted their relationship.
review 2: 4.5 StarsStephannie Beman's book My Lord Hades was a wonderful interpretation on the love story of Hades and Persephone. Hades was a great hero, complex and very sexy. He was very tough but so gentle with Persephone. Persephone w... moreas a delightful character, also very complex. We started out not knowing much about her and as the story unfolded we discovered exactly who she was. Their characters were explored in depth and I really felt like I got to know them. Both were strong characters and I really enjoyed their love story. It was not without strife or conflict but love did triumph in the end. The secondary characters really added to the story and I enjoyed them, especially Thanatos. I really enjoyed this book. It was very well written. This is a new author so I started reading it not knowing what to expect and I was very pleasantly surprised. I found it complex, entertaining, creative and a joy to read. Bravo to the author. I will definitely look forward to reading more by her. Highly recommended. less
