review 1: I liked this book because it was written in a simple, straightforward manner without being over the top in terms of research. The book is broken down by a daughter's age, so although I read it straight through because it was a quick read, it would also be really useful to read the specific chapter that your daughter is about to enter or is already in. This book was uplifting, without being preachy or religious, and gave good tips and advice for mothers of daughters.
review 2: I received this book as a giveaway from a Goodreads author. I entered to help my daughter with my two granddaughters and didn't realize how hard girls have it in this decade and into their future. Most of the chapters in this non-fiction book have summaries at the end with "tips in a nutsh
... moreell." This is a book full of advice especially for raising girls. Written by a family psychologist from down under. I was unaware that there were 5 stages to girlhood and would have liked this information when I raised my daughter before the year 2000. I think it is as helpful as the Love and Logic books of the 1990s by Jim Fay and Foster Cline. less
