review 1: As expected, the art is gorgeous. Fiona Staples has a great and versatile style and it works perfectly with Mystery Society. It jumps straight into the story and sort of leaves you wondering if there was a prior book you missed. It's a good mystery with interesting characters and a cute premise, but nothing fantastic. It somehow falls short of being great, despite it's artistic team. I did find myself wishing there was more - it would make a good ongoing series, and in fact seemed like the beginning or middle of something promising.

... moreuld have been more than a mini series. That's really my only criticism, I wanted to watch the members of the Society grow; to learn more about them. We're given this eclectic cast of characters and then only given one adventure to know them. I'm not sure if sales numbers were way down on this or what, but I'm sure more than 6 issues could've been hatched out from a team consisting of a super spy like couple, a super hero-esque ghoul, Jules Verne's brain, and a pair of telekinetic teleporting twins but alas that's all we get. Fiona Staples is wonderful as always, if you're a fan of her work, this is a must have for your collection. less
