review 1: Purposed fiction. The way he incorporates societal problems (violence against women, homophobia, xenophobia, national "security", corrupt police, etc.) into his fiction is astounding. And, like his first book, I love the way he brings in exact commercial products (IKEA, Palm, Apple, etc.) into the narrative. The cast of characters is larger in this novel; the names were a bit confusing for a while, but they finally began to take on their distinctive traits.The Swedes eat a lot of sandwiches in his books.
