review 1: I was given this book by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Not having read the first two book in this series, I wasn't really sure what to expect. This book is the third in a series, but I can assure you this reads as a stand alone. This book centers around Belinda and her ex but not officially divorced husband Carter. He moves back into town with his daughter Ruby in tow and they begin to fall in love again. It's your classic, rehashing why the marriage failed and working together to figure out if it's worth salvaging and moving forward. The love between the two and the love shown for the daughter Ruby is endearing. It was a fast read, great one to throw in your beach bag. Will be looking up the first two so I can catch up on the series... more now.
review 2: I suppose there's a romance book out there where the hero doesn't have an adorable child that I wouldn't like. I have to leave that as an outside possibility. But there's a way that fatherhood matures a man in remarkably sexy ways that makes those heroes have more heart than most.Jamison shows Carter's progression from the before and after format, so he's a good guy nice and early, which I love. Belinda is a force of nature, my favorite heroine so far in this series for her confident spitfire spirit. The friends have more good cause than usual for being interfering ninnies, so that also works in the book's favor. Overall a fun and sexy read I devoured when it came out this week. less
