review 1: This book read like the author wanted to write an erotic novel, but realized that the paranormal genre is hot right now & it would sell better if wrote it with that angle. We don't really get a whole lot of background on how shifters came into existence or how they managed to integrate into human society. Plus, we really just jump from one sex scene to the next. This really wasn't my type of novel.
review 2: Diana, an alpha female leopard, had made it through her heat cycle for months alone after the loss of her mate but it is becoming too much for her to handle alone. She needs help. Therefore, she turns to Downtown Den a stud club for shifters. Who walks into her room but her boss at Matrix Design. Diana is alone in the world she left her home years befor... moree. Shawn Barclay gives her a choice but to spend the night with him or someone else from the club. Shawn is an alpha male leopard who once tasted Diana now wants to show her everything she did not learn. Shawn did not start out wanting a permanent relationship with anyone after the loss of his almost mate who walked out on him. The chemistry between Shawn and Diana is blistering hot. The sex scenes were hot and very steamy. I loved how the author intertwined D/s into the story without it overpowering the overall story. In the middle of everything, Diana and Shawn fall in love.I enjoyed the ending of the book even though it caught me off guard. I did not expect Shawn’s evil ex to pop up. Both Shawna and Diana handled the problems she created with a lot more grace than many.The author created a wonderful world; it was flushed out very well. I wonder if this is the start of a series. I hope so because I hope that Tristen, Fin, and Santo get their own book. Overall, this was a delightful and compelling book. I am a big fan of paranormal romances and this is one book I would re-read. less
