review 1: Just impossible to read. Poor writing and I understand that the premise is to dispell all the information thought of as "fact" by showing that there are no credible sources, but it really gets old that every sentence says something along the line of "this was said, and it may or may not be true." I guess I don't have as much patience with historical revisions as I have had in the past. I give this book six fingers on one hand (or possibly only five) down.
review 2: I was fortunate to see a pre-publicity tour conducted by Ms. Bordo prior to the book's release. Her speech was essentially the last half of the book. Amazing how after almost 500 years Anne is still either a devil/witch or a seductress and not an intelligent educated woman in her own right. The book ... morereads like a long historiography with some interesting side notes of the author's put in. If you are a history buff and like historiography its a great book. If you want to learn more about Anne not so great. less
