review 1: Sadly, I just couldn't waste anymore precious reading time on this book. I wanted to like it, I did enjoy the first book (with some minor annoyances about anachronistic behavior) but this one magnifies everything that bothered me. I just can't keep reading a series whose main character I have no sympathy for - Maggie is just too smugly arrogant, and for no discernible reason except she's buying her own press. Then I started reading about the whole "Alias" ripoff and knew that was going to send me - so all done.
review 2: I'm a sucker for WWII British historic fiction. I listened to this book on audio. Queen Elizabeth as a young lady is a major character in this book, which I find interesting. And once again the Prince Edward and Mrs. Simpson are portrayed
... moreas less than desirable people. After further research it appears the author was not far off from the truth. Chilling to think what things would have been like with Edward as King and Wallis as whatever. less

The plot twists are so far-fetched that they become predictable.
