review 1: Competent mystery. I didn't know "who dun it" until close to the end. After a slow beginning, the plot picks up and carries you along as Maggie tries to solve the murder of her sister, Elise. Elise has been estranged from her Atlanta-based family, delving into the world of the arts and drugs in France. Upon her murder, the family learns she had a daughter. But nothing is as it seems and therein lies the mystery.
review 2: I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway.Reading this novel was a frustrating experience. The plot was very choppy, and there were too many thinly developed characters. It ends up detracting from the mystery.I think if an author is going to have a murder mystery and a romance intertwined in a novel, it has to be done in a certain way. It just didn’t work for me here. less
