review 1: I enjoyed this book set in the beautiful Missouri hills. It was an interesting idea that a black dress could be impowered with the ability to tell the future. The real question becomes do you let the brief glance into the future define who you are or do you create your own destiny and live the life you want? I think the book also shows how keeping secrets can destroy a family. Susan McBride who, lives in St. Louis, tells a simple tale about family relationships and how they can define who we become.
review 2: I enjoyed this multi-generational tale. In particular, I appreciated the honesty of the women's relationships with one another. It's refreshing to read a chick-lit book with strong female characters, interested in more than being swept off their feet
... moreby the handsome rich guy. The romances felt natural and like warm sub-plots fueling the main story, adding dimension to the characters. Overall, I would certainly recommend it to readers of chick-lit or anyone who appreciates a good story about the complications of belonging to an imperfect family. less
