review 1: I really enjoyed this guidebook to Tudor England. It's incredibly well researched, and my copy is beautiful! It has lovely illustrations at the beginning of each chapter and a gorgeously designed cover. I love the stories about the colourful characters behind each house, castle, tree etc., and the places themselves are carefully chosen. I learnt so many things about all the people and architecture. A great read!
review 2: I'm a huge fan of Suzannah Lipscomb and was so glad to find this book when I got to England. Beautifully and simply written, it clearly explains the points of interest for anyone interested in the Tudor dynasty. It is cleverly designed to offer information and be a guide whilst on travels to these locations - including the Tower of London, Ham
... morepton Court Palace, the National Portrait Gallery, Blackfriars, and many many others. Alternatively, it can be used simply as a reference for someone who will never visit these sites, as it does a great job of painting the picture of these places and figuratively taking you back to see them. Suzannah did a great job making this book accessible to any reader and easy to understand. It's not bogged down with insignificant details - it's clear, concise and enjoyable. less
