review 1: I seem to be reading/reviewing lots of books that aren't my style lately. And liking them...hmmm. Anyway, this teen romance manga is almost too cute and full of absurdity. But it works. The characters aren't as annoying as they should be, the art works well to keep the tone of the subject material. Maybe I'm excited about going to comiccon for the first time this year so a story about an anime convention is more appealing than it otherwise would be. In any case, I seem to have a pathological need to find a reason why I liked this, and maybe I should just let it be.
review 2: This book could have very easily been annoying, but for some reason it wasn't. It has the dorkiest premise on the face of the planet: it follows the interpersonal relationships of a group
... moreof young adults at an anime convention. And, while I think I would spontaneously combust if I actually went to one of those things, it didn't bother me to read about it. A lot of it is just very light and charming (of course, there's a fair amount of over-the-top teenage drama), and that made it a joy to read. Not for everybody, but I would definitely recommend it to fans of manga. less

funny, but volume 1 is the best and captures the giddy excitement of going to a convention.
