review 1: Have to love a novel with a strong willed, good hearted man and Travis fills the bid. As the oldest son Travis takes pride in his ability to run his family ranch and his mother until she schemes to set him up with the perfect woman that won't back down from a fight. I absolutely adored Rose and Isaiah who is both best friend and father figure to her. She is a strong young woman that found a way when most wouldn't dare, she is an "Innocent vixen," no to mention that she had Travis under her spell from the moment he walked into her parlor.
review 2: Main Characters:Rose Severin - A young woman who has had a tough lifeTravis Burnett - A rancher who is attracted to Rose but thinks she is a criminalSynopsis:Eugenia Burnett wants grandchildren. This cunning widow is
... moredetermined to find wives for her brood of handsome sons.Rose Severin speaks to the dead or at least she pretends to until she can earn enough money to make her way to New York and become a famous actress like her mother. Travis Burnett is resolved to rid the frontier town of imposters like Rose. But Eugenia thinks the fiery Rose is just the woman for her obstinate son. She schemes to keep Rose at the family ranch where Travis soon realizes that the supposed spiritualist is more than just a pretty swindler. My Thoughts:This was a fun and easy read. Granted I thought some of the characters had annoying moments - for example Eugenia not confessing till the very end of the book and Travis being so amazingly pigheaded, but overall the book was entertaining. Rose is a good character, although I'm not sure why she chose to stay on the ranch as long as she did when she knew that Travis thought she was a con. I liked her spirit and her determination to become an actress. less
