review 1: This was an entertaining read. The plot had enough of a twist to keep you interested. I enjoyed the bantering between Matt and Valerie. Though, from the other Reviews, I did expect the book to have more humor in it, but it still had some good one liners. The best one was from a very unexpected source, a 14 year old- "Now I am".(You will see what I mean, when you read the book.) The town was very inviting with solid, good people that cared about each other. I finished this story, feeling good. The author does a good job building the sexual tension between Valerie and Matt, while at the same time, developing their relationship. I was not sure if and when, these two would finally give in to their mutual attraction for each other. And if they did do It, would the author just... more "fade the scene to black", or would she entertain us with the romance "between the sheets"?
review 2: Delightfully entertaining romantic comedy that leaves you both satisfied and dying for more!Sylvia McDaniel delivers an engaging and enjoyable story about two lonely souls that not only learn more about themselves but also find love in the most unlikely place. Valerie is a girl that is on the run after discovering that her fiancé not only cheated on her but also got her best friend pregnant. What’s a girl to do? She runs, and she runs right into the small town of Springtown and the arms of Matt Jordan, Colorado’s own successful liability lawyer. McDaniel flawlessly delivers a tasteful story about two characters that share a sizzling connection. And while they fought their mutual attraction sometimes, you can’t resist what the heart desires. The chemistry between Matt and Valerie was so hot I thought the pages would ignite. At first I was a little leery, Valerie was a spoiled rich girl who had it all but she quickly won over my heart as I got to know her. Valerie showed strength and courage in an impossible situation while Matt was the perfect dream guy. A man willing to change his life to take care of his sister and not to mention a heart-throb looking for a lasting relationship that would lead to marriage and a family… what more could a girl ask for? While this was a short read and I finished it in one sitting I can easily say that it’s one of the best contemporary romance books I’ve read in awhile. The characters were so real and their situations so compelling that you felt joy and sadness right along with them. I can easily see this book as a best seller and would love to see it on the big screen. I think the line that caught me from the start was "Hadn't these people ever seen a runaway bride in real life before? Julia Roberts may have made the movie, but she didn't own the copyright to wedding disasters.” This statement is so true for this story. While there are a lot of stories and movies about runaway brides this one is completely unique with it’s own characters and small town full of wonderful people willing to help those in need. This book left me thinking, where can I find a small town like this with great people and a gorgeous bachelor looking for a happily ever after…. don’t forget he’s also good with kids!! This is the first book I’ve read by Sylvia McDaniel but she’s won me over with her beautiful story telling and easy to love characters. If you haven’t read The Wanted Bride you should pick up a copy, I promise you wont be disappointed! less
