review 1: Honestly, I had no idea what I was expecting before starting Soulless, but I wasn't expecting Soulless to be so soulful. This read came recommended by a friend, and I'm glad I read it. I lost many hours of sleep being mesmerized by T Baggin's beautiful prose and dialog. This is unlike any vampire romance I've ever read. I love the tie-ins to mythology, and I felt completely transported into this historical world. The love between two destined souls feels real and moving. I never wanted it to end, and even though the ending wasn't what I expected, I was still wholly satisfied. Beautiful story.
review 2: The author takes us back in time to when vampires really were vampires. But this love story is much more than vampires--Soulless is a historical romance, a reinc... morearnation story, and above all else--entertaining. The author has created her own take on the vampire legend and it's very well written. Readers will be surprised at the "origin" of the Soulless vampires waiting for them at the end. (Not the readers end, the book! Lol.) T. Baggins' prose is visual, her dialogue fast and intelligent, and most of all, she's placed these characters we care about in a world we care about. Nicholas, maimed in a terrible accident, meets Ban, a vampire, and both their existences suddenly take on new meanings. I enjoyed reading about all the characters, especially Nicholas and Ban, but must admit my favorite was Martha. Soulless is a fast read. If you like vampires, love, oh yes, some graphic sex and violence (hey, these are real vampires of legend after all) and an enthralling romance with unique characters--pick up Soulless.
