review 1: This is one of those stories that I went in to and didn't know what to really expect from it. I can honestly say what I read and found was amazingly beautiful, and heartbreaking. It shows that people aren't infallible, that people do make mistakes. But unfortunately, sometimes, those heat of the moment mistakes have harsh and unforgiving consequences. But this book is also about forgiveness, and how it can mean everything to someone. But sometimes in that forgiveness, the hurt still festers and burns know matter how much time passes. This is a wonderful story about what enduring love looks like. It's beautiful, it's heartbreaking, but it's so very worth it, for those few, but precious memories made.
review 2: Paul Stewart has been assigned to write a story abou
... moret Auntie Social (a.k.a. Matthew Trammell), one of Atlanta's biggest drag queens, who has worked for 30 years raising money for HIV/AIDS programs and is seen as a pillar of the community. Though Paul has heard and read Matthew's reasons time and again for his work, he can't help but wonder if there's a story that hasn't been told and, surprisingly, is able to break through and get Matthew to tell him a story that resonates on levels he hadn't expected.Incredibly moving, heartbreaking, touching, etc. The list of descriptors could go on and on here. This really was an incredible story that pulled me in and hit me in a lot of ways. T.A. Webb has created a masterful story here. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I felt like the last scene was just a bit contrived and took away from the overall story, but it's still wonderful all the same. less

Bittersweet reminder that HIV/AIDS isn't cured.
