review 1: Elsie porter finds and marries the love of her life quickly. He thinks he has plenty of time to tell his mother--who still suffers the loss of her husband. When tragedy strikes and Ben is killed just 9 days after their wedding. Leaving Elsie to tell her mother-in-law. The interesting part of the book for me was that he was killed early in the book, their courtship was told as memories. Easy, quick read, unimpressed with the writing of Taylor Jenkins Reid.
review 2: I loved everything about this book - beginning, middle and end! I was sobbing by about page 4, and didn't stop until I reached the end of the book. Beautifully written from two different time frames. Taylor does a lovely job exploring one woman's chance encounter with the love of her life, an... mored how, months later, it ends in tragedy - such a touching book about love, loss, and finding strength when and where you least expect it. less
