review 1: It's interesting that each subsequent book in this trilogy gets progressively better-written. Not to say it's written amazingly, but better than the previous one.The final book (I assume) in this trilogy has Lily working to solve a looming environmental crisis in the oceans, all the while discovering a conspiracy that threatens the sea kingdoms and learning she and Quince might be torn apart by fate after all. In comparison to the first book, "Forgive My Fins", this book and the last one are far superior in their action, the emotional depth of the characters and the dramatic scenes.I thought the last two tests Quince had to finish were undramatic (the second one was wrapped up for the reader in three pages) and the final test was a cliche anyone could see a mile away. The ... moreinteractions between Lily and the various rulers was written in a simple, yet captivating way. There were plenty of action scenes and plot developments to keep readers wondering what would happen next.Funny that the first book, which was the longest, had far less action, plot and character development than the next two, each one being shorter by roughly 20 pages. Regardless, the author was able to make all the characters more appealing and even make Lily a more likeable protagonist than she was in "Forgive My Fins".The ending was a little rushed. A few more pages of Lily wrapping up her high school life would have been enjoyable. Though I think this ending works well enough. Not the most amazing series I've read, not by a long shot. Though, I absolutely enjoyed reading it and would recommend it to young readers.
review 2: di akhir seri ini, masalah yg dihadapin lily makin beratpertama, hubungannya dg quince diuji......pilihannya lily dan quince harus menjalani 3 tes utk membuktikan hubungannya layak dipertahankan, wow......kedua, thelin meminta bantuan lily menyelamatkan kerajaannya yg ujung2nya lily harus berhadapan dg semua penguasa kerajaan merworld. glek.......mba tera cukup piawai menggambarkan dunia merworld. di mana yg kusukai kerajaan dumontia yg ada di antartika. jika kerajaan lily penuh warna, di sini putih mendominasi....termasuk sikap ratunya.....endingnya lumayan simpel yg menurutku cukup bagus utk YA....pengen ada ceritanya quince dan lily lagi.... less
