The Alabaster Hip by Maggie Fenton

Maggie Fenton’s Newest Release is Humorous, Captivating and Entertaining. The Alabaster Hip— Coming 6/6/17— Don’t Miss It. I Loved It!

The Alabaster Hip is a very well-written, delightful and humorous historical fiction romance.
Minerva Jones has been sacked without references for the second time in her life. And this last time was not even her fault. She was fighting off an intruder, the Viscount Marlowe, to be exact; and while struggling to do so, she was caught in a compromising position. How was that, her fault? And, to add to her supposedly naughty behavior, Minerva’s nemesis squealed to her superior, about Minerva’s Christopher Essex poetry collection. Granted the man’s poetry was a bit unconventional; blood pumping, toe curling, and even swoon-worthy. But still, it was only poetry.

While Minerva Jones was standing in a muddy ditch, screaming the filthiest swears she could think of, the Viscount Marlowe offered her, a governess job. Minerva couldn’t believe the audacity of the crazy man. But when the Viscount kept upping the salary that he was offering her, to triple what she would normally make, Minerva caved. She might despise the man for getting her sacked, but she wasn’t stupid. And besides, Minerva truly liked the Viscount’s twin girls, even if they were, little hellions.

Minerva had no idea how complicated her life was about to get. But living under the same roof as the Viscount was rattling her nerves and proving to be dangerous as well. Much to Minerva’s dismay, she was growing fond of the Viscount. Minerva needed to guard her heart; because falling for a man like him would only end badly for her.

This book is pure entertainment. It’s escapism at its finest. The characters are quirky, likable, and eccentric. I found the banter between Minerva and the Viscount to be laugh-out-loud funny and Minerva’s inner dialogue, hysterical. Maggie Fenton is a talented writer and a great storyteller. I enjoyed The Alabaster Hip so much so, that I purchased, the first two books in the series.

Thank you, Kindle Press and NetGalley for my advanced review copy. I loved it!
