review 1: 4.5 really. I'm going to make a list of what I loved about this book. 1. Damian. He's just so sneaky, what a cool stepdad. 2. The plot. I love how there were several different things going on at once, I can't stand those one-way books. 3. Tiny details. I loved how at the beginning of the chapter Childs gave a quick synopsis of all the powers, it was a good way to get the information across without too much explanation. 4. Enjoyment. I just liked reading this book, it was quick, easy and a perfect summer read. (Main reason of high rating. Without this, I'd give it probably a 3.5, 4. However, I did give it a 4.5, so there were some faults...1. Griffin. I never liked Griffin, just read my review on Oh. My. Gods and some updates. I hate the whole perfect guy thing. 2. Th... moree little detail on Xander. I think Xander could have been a much more dynamic character. (Hoping to see more of him in book 3) 3. Tansy. She was a pretty pointless addition, and on a side note, what's up with these names? Overall, I thought this was equally, or a bit better than the first.
review 2: So if we're going to be honest here, I fully recognize that this series has horrible writing and the plot is ridiculously contrived, but it's one of those situations where it's a series and you just feel obligated to keep reading. This book did leave some room for future volumes in the series, but also works as a stopping point, but honestly, I think Oh. My. Gods. should have just been left as a standalone. It felt like a good stopping point and I have to wonder if this is more just about money than anything else, as it often seems to be these days with YA series. But it's your typical book 2 formula, continuing bits of the story from the last book, with unnecessary complications added for the couple since there's nowhere else for their story to go, mysterious male character, etc. You've read it all before, it's nothing new. If you want to read about gods/goddesses having mortal connections in youth, just stick to Percy Jackson. The ending was rushed and anticlimactic and mostly it's just a relief to be able to get this off my bookshelf. less

Like I said for Oh.My.Gods, mostly for those around the age of a middle school/high school student.
