review 1: The third book in Teresa Burrell's Sabre Brown series, "The Advocate's Conviction" continues the compelling and, spellbinding story telling as was found in the first two novels. In this book Sabre has to stand as the advocate to the Johnson kids. All 5 of them with ages ranging from 8 years old and down. Also, she must look out for teenager Bailey lecy. As the plot unravels the first curve thrown at Sabre is that someone is performing Satanic rituals on some of these youngsters. Could it be that babies care being sacrificed to Satan ? Sabre must hunker down with her trusted somewhat part unofficial partner Bob, and along with her private investigator JP to get to the bottom of this mess. Along the way the oldest Johnson child Cole has disappeared. Then Bailey vanishes as ... morewell. Where are Sabre's charges disappearing off to ? A finely crafted plot with plenty of action and drama along the way allows this yarn to fly. Author Burrell's characters are gripping and gritty along with some intense dialog to sharpen the plot. Reading most of this novel I was on the edge of my seat wondering where the next twist was going to explode. Without a doubt 5 stars out of 5. I really loved "The Advocate's Conviction" by Teresa Burrell a great deal. This third Sabre Brown book is the best one yet ! If you haven't started reading the Sabre Brown series you are missing something special. Do yourself a great favor and give author Teresa Burrell's books a chance. So far all 3 have been mystery thrillers with some great intrigue.
review 2: This is my first Teresa Burrell book and it won't be my last. From the very first page I was hooked. I love Sabre, Bob, and JP. and their easy banter. Being a born and raised Texan I especially loved the JP-isms, have used some them in the past and will use some of them in the future. The story had some twist and turns that I didn't see coming and I really like that in a book. I also like that there isn't a lot of legal talk that you usually find in legal thrillers. Reminded me of the William Bernhardt Justice series before he went political. I have found a new favorite author to add to my list and plan on getting the first two books in the series. I won this from LibraryThing Member Giveaway and I highly recommend this book. less
