review 1: I've always loved the story of Joseph from the Old Testament, it is one of my favorites. When I found this book online I grabbed it up to read it. I must say I half wondered if it was going to follow the account in the Bible or not. What I meant was I was pleased that Ms. Fivash flushed out Joseph's character enough that we got to see how his life was as a slave, and his encounters with the people who were friends, as well as enemies, to how God was preparing him for this for his job as Prime Minster in the future. My only small complaint was it was slightly jarring to be taken out of Joseph's POV to a third POV be it of Aseneth, though I loved getting to know some of her story growing up. But for the most part I loved the story.

... moreuldn't put this book down - read it late into the night... Joseph's story is told quite beautifully; the characters are vivid, the plots are neatly interwoven, and the descriptions of locations, clothes, markets, foods, etc, gets your visual imagination going and transports you to that time in history. It's also very true to the real biblical account.Terri is definitely a gifted writer! less
