Mary O’Reilly Paranormal Mystery

review 1: Since I use Kindle on my phone, I cannot always read a Kindle book when I have a busy phone day. I read Dragon Bound during work hours to keep my phone free. Luckily, I had a slow morning and was able to finish Good Tidings. I am not sure what genre this series would be in. I might describe it as paranormal romantic mystery. I like Mary, Bradley, and the regular supporting cast, but it was nice to meet Mary's family. I admit I found some of Mary's reactions slightly uncharacteristic for the tough cop she was, but those incongruities did not detract from my enjoyment of the story. So far, the series is a good, solid, pleasant read.
review 2: Another enjoyable, fun, fast-paced installment in this series by Ms. Reid! I loved the easy banter and camaraderie betwee... moren Mary, Bradley and Mary's brother, Sean. And, I loved the continuing slow build-up of the romance between Mary and Bradley that started in the first book. It's such a nice refreshing change from the usual heated sexual tension between the characters or the instant "jump into bed at the first opportunity" trope!The story itself was gripping, intriguing and very sweet in places, particularly the exchanges with the adorable little ghost/angel boy Joey and the charming, gorgeous ghost dog Chief. The various side stories of the ghosts that Mary encountered were also very interesting and compelling.Good writing, an intelligent, sassy main character, a good-looking, kind, sensitive male romantic interest, quirky, likeable supporting characters, a burgeoning romance that doesn't overshadow the ghostly happenings, diverse and fairly non-scary ghosts, and you have all the ingredients for a solid, pleasant, fun read. less
