review 1: I was thrown into the kingdom of Persia, with its luxuries and lavishness. Also I got an insight about what a scribe really is. I loved Sarah character and her beautiful growth. I super loved the analogy about the vine and suffering, wow I was really touched by it. What I also loved about this book was the twist of a bit of something like detective story, the puzzles of mysteries that need to be solved, a bit of spy plot. It was a very enjoyable book for me.
review 2: Sarah the niece Nehemiah with all of her talents suffered from the knowledge that she wasn’t loved by her father the failure of God not responding to her pray when her mother was sick caused her to depend on herself and made her immerse herself in her love of reading and investigating in a time ... morewhen it was not a woman’s job. Her uncle Nehemiah recommended her to the Queen of Persia and when she unraveled a mystery which could have caused a divide between the queen and her mother in law, the story had a interesting twist when she was given in marriage arranged by the queen, and sanctioned by her father and Nehemiah.. The twist and turns of this novel had me unable to put the book down. less
