review 1: I get kind of silly and giddy when describing this book. It was that good. I mean: a pirate ship. Baaaaasically the hero is a pirate. Ok, retired privateer. Whatever: a pirate. The vast majority of the book is set on a ship sailing across the ocean. There is hot ship sex. Very. Hot. Ship. Sex. I mean, it's so over the top and fabulous, I can barely talk about it without giggling like a teenager. And the heroine was genuinely independent and awesome, not just plucky like most historical heroines -- a grown-ass woman takin' care of business. She knew what she wanted and she was very clear about it, and she even pursued the hero a bit (for a change!) It was delightful to read. Highly recommended.
review 2: I really enjoyed this story. The characters are likable, t... morehere was never a dull moment, and the turn of events from strangers to lovers between Sophie and Gray is nice. Sophia has wisdom that is not really in tune with her age. But her maturity is understable in the circumstances. Gray wants the best for his family and hides his uncertainty and hurt with a smile. Anyway, the conflict is really stressful, but nicely creative. I may read the other books in the future. less
