review 1: It's very sad and hard to believe that intuitions like the one in this story actually existed. The way the past and present stories came together was amazing. Even though I didn't agree with her decision....I felt the struggles and turmoil Marie went through. This book shows that every child deserves a chance and deserves to be loved like any other. This is one of those books I'll be thinking of for awhile.
review 2: The Unfinished Child interweaves the brief story of Margaret, a woman who bears a child with Down syndrome in the 1940s, and the modern-day complicated friendship between Marie and Elizabeth. Marie, a mother of two girls, envies Elizabeth’s beauty and trim figure. Elizabeth longs for nothing more than to bear a child, the one thing she is unable
... moreto do and which Marie does so easily. Already fraught with envy, their friendship is endures the ultimate test when Marie conceives a child with Down syndrome. An excellent, complicated story. less

While I don't agree with the decisions that were made by the characters I did enjoy the story.

Finished this in a day. Boys played in the lake and I read all afternoon long.

I loved this book. Although it was sad, it was very true to life.
