review 1: päris kuiv lugemine. viskab õhku küsimuse, et kuidas teha nii, et haritud ja targad inimesed saaksid rohkem lapsi ja vähemharitud ja rumalamad vähem. praegune saksa sotsiaaltoetuste kord siis pigem soodustab vastupidist. suurimaid lootuskiiri näeb ta USA, Kanada ja Austraalia kombel migratsiooni piiramisest (jõukus, haridus, keeleoskus) ja Prantsusmaa kombel naiste kiirele tööturule tagasisuunamisele (piisavalt sõimesid ja lasteaedu ning pikapäevakoole). meile sarnasel vanemahüvitisele ta erilist positiivset mõju ei leidnud. see võib tuua pisut esmasünde ettepoole, mis annab ka lootust, et peresse sünnib rohkem lapsi. kulusid arvestades olla see mõju siiski väike.sarnast analüüsi eesti kohta loeksin huviga.
review 2: Provocative book uses ex... moretensive statistics and analysis to document the effects of immigration on German society, economics, and crime. Ethnic Germans will be a minority in their own country within three generations due to birth rates well below the replacement rate for them vs. much higher fertility rates for immigrants, particularly from the Middle East and Africa, who live in Berlin, Bremen, Hamburg, and other major cities. Sarrazin is clearly frustrated by what he sees as an unwillingness for immigrants to assimilate into German culture while at the same time enjoying its generous welfare payments, healthcare, and education systems. He looks to the US as an example where immigrants integrate into the fabric of society much faster.Overall an interesting book though at times author Sarrazin seems to make the same points and cover the same ground repeatedly. You can agree or disagree with his thesis and recommendations but either way the book is still stimulating. less
