review 1: I think you either get it or you don't. For those that understand the power of money they would rarely think about wasting it. For those that don't understand the power of money they just want it so they can waste it. Our culture obsesses over how to waste money. Cars, watches, jewelry, and especially houses. No body seems to be interested in how to take what they have and create more opportunities. They just want to blame those that have already created wealth for not giving more to them to waste. (Insert reference to Mcdonalds employees picketing for higher wages). This books gives a story to the thought process and statistics of those that know how to actually create wealth. Taking what they have and multiplying it. This book feels more like deprogramming than anything ... moreinsightful or educational. You don't need to waste money to impress people. The people that matter won't be impressed and the people that don't matter won't be impressed either. Unless you are filthy, filthy, rich and don't have any better idea what to do with your money. Especially if you didn't really have to work to get filthy rich. Buying things won't make you happy. Having a purpose and working towards your goals might.
review 2: This book is a good wake-up call if you are perpetually making purchasing decisions based on what movie stars would buy. For the rest of us, it is humorous validation for the good decisions we are making.... Don't buy 100 bottles of $80 wine for your wine cellar... Don't live next door to the guy with 3 Mercedes and 2 land rovers in the driveway... Etc. If you need to read this book, it is highly unlikely you will. If you are reading it, you probably already follow most of the advice. This book is not nearly as good as the author's most famous analysis of millionaires, "The Millionaire Next Door". less

It was as good as a "money book" could be. :) Good supplement to anything Dave Ramsey.

Really didn't need to read this book as mom and dad taught me the principles
