Jack Till
review 1: Jack Till returns in Thomas Perry's "The Boyfriend". This second Jack Till novel was as every bit good as the first ,which was written several years ago. Till is working for the parents of a murdered college graduate who'd turn towards being an escort rather than getting a job in her educated field. It seems a killer has a liking for a certain type of call girl. He romances them to the point he moves in with them, and after several months leaves them behind with a bullet in the head. Till must bounce all over the country chasing this killer, and following all of the bodies he keeps leaving behind in his wake. Finally the old experienced ,and cunning Till gets into the head of the killer. Once Till is inside the killer's head mistakes begin to be left in his wake. After the... more killer kidnaps his latest call girl who's really only a flirt, Till must ramp things into high gear to save her life. Author Perry is a master story teller who once again with "The Boyfriend" introduces us to some pretty wild characters with blazing dialog that makes this novel cook. 5 stars out of 5. I hope Thomas Perry continues writing additional Jack Till novels (Along with his Jane Whitefield novels). This is one book you do not want to miss. It's story moves almost at the speed of sound, and is a completely enjoyable mystery thriller. When you need something to read, look for a Thomas Perry.
review 2: Wow! This was a great read! Jack Tiller, a retired LAPD cop, now private investigator, is hired to find the killer of a call girl. At first, he seems to be a serial killer, but Jack finds his adversary is more than a sociopath. A couple of plot twists give a human element; tracking this killer is hard detective work, seeing parallels and drawing conclusions. I especially liked Jack's adult Down Syndrome daughter who brought Jack's character some dimension. There is a big body count, but most of the killings are clean and quick. less
