review 1: holy shit. i've never written a review here before cause i don't know shit about reviewing but daaaaammmmnnnnnnn. these books just. they just sucked me right into them. The characters are whole and three-dimensional, though unrealistic at times, the writing just becomes so real you feel their pain, everything feels so real that I read Disclosure and Outtakes in one sitting. I'm not even kidding. AND TO KNOW THAT A 5TH BOOK IS COMING IN A FEW DAYS! DAMN. AND IT'S DELVING INTO BDSM HOLY SHIT.But before that, let's talk about cheating here. CHEATING always makes me go UGH like it's too painful to read the next scenes. I've read lots of mm books and this is probably the first book that made me feel seriously pumped about cheating and it didn't even go that deep! I really write... more shit reviews but this author cant write shit cause SHE DA MAN and she will forever be my idol.
review 2: OUTTAKES is a wonderful continuation of a stellar series. The emotionally intense tension between an established couple will captivate MM readers as it did me. If the novel tries to do a bit much at the end, I forgive it since it's such a great read.Kit's coming out at the Academy Awards for his lover, Jeremy, wasn't the end but just the beginning. It's not been good for his acting career, which has left him floundering in life and his relationship with Jeremy. Jeremy isn't sure how to reconnect with Kit, and with a celebrity chef after Kit in more ways than just the kitchen, their relationship is in danger.I make no secret that this is one of my favorite MM series so I was excited and nervous for this book. I can honestly say the emotional intensity I've come to expect from this series is in full force here--and I loved it! Kit and Jeremy want to be each other's emotional refuges but they can't seem to figure out how to do it, especially since neither have a pattern to follow. Their bumbling attempts at opening up to each other were heart-wrenching to read and exactly why I read romance. These men make mistakes and lash out at each other, but can't imagine a life without the other and this tension captured my heart. I love the self-reflection by both men as they first have to be honest with themselves before they can be honest with each other and this was a lovely component of the book. Series fans will not be surprised at the scorching eroticism of this novel as it successfully combines the best of sexual and emotional intimacy. The plot of Kit trying to figure out what he wants in life after he feels his acting career is over is perfectly integrated into the romantic tension. The celebrity chef, Andy, and his obsession with Kit and Kit's reaction to it are cringe-worthy but also show where Kit is in his life. This wasn't easy to read, especially for me since as a series fan I watched Kit and Jeremy fall in love. This book is about what happens after the commitment, and to me, it perfectly captures both characters' faults as well as their desire to stay together. This book is full of messy emotions and mistakes, but its story of humanity and love will wow other readers as it did me.But...and I hate to have a but...but I do. This novel had so much going on with Kit and Jeremy's relationship that I felt the end packed in too much to allow the full resolution I wanted. I can't say what happens or it'll spoil the story for readers, but Kit's past suddenly intrudes at the most critical time in the men's relationship. It serves as the catalyst to reconcile the men, but also for Kit, and by extension Jeremy, to reconcile a bit with their pasts. This felt like too much too close to the novel's ending for my tastes. To be fair, Jeremy and Kit acknowledge they have more to discuss, but as a reader I was there for all this tension and I wanted to be there for all the discussions, too.The epilogue was good and offered a bit of resolution I wanted but not quite enough. Still, I can hope that this means Jeremy and Kit will be featured in more books, as well as Greg and Aaron who had cameos in this novel.OUTTAKES is a wonderful emotional and erotic MM romance and a great addition to a stellar series.*Originally reviewed for The Romance Reviews* *Review copy from publisher* less
