review 1: So many great points in this theology-meets-technology treatise that will arm you for battling & bending technology to your advantage. Although it’s not a “how-to” book, it does offer practical guides that will help you & your family navigate your own next story in our ever-shifting world of social media. I enjoyed Challies’ theological, theoretical, & experiential framework that he convincingly presents to those who desire to live lives of virtue & dignity after the digital explosion. Namely, how our view of God shapes the trails we leave behind online; how awareness of how the medium shapes the message helps us avoid being swallowed by the very technology that’s supposed to make our lives better; & lastly, how our experiences shape our understanding of ourselve... mores & others. Challies includes a well researched, yet brief, & even entertaining historical account of technology’s evolution from (pre)print to digital. Good read.
review 2: The best book I've found on thinking Christianly about the new world we live in. One to keep and pass on to our kids when they are a little older. One to pass on to our students now!Provided helpful biblical perspective on various of technology, practical challenges and questions for reflection on our own personal habits and a whole host of references for those of us who need to think more deeply about these issues. less
