review 1: This clever, attractive book is a balanced mixture of recipes and reading recommendations. Each page has a book summary as well as a recipe with a punny title. (My favorites are "The Cooler Purple", "Gin Eyre", and "The Last of the Mojitos".) But this book isn't just a gimmick; beginning sections include information about tools, techniques, and terms, and there are further chapters about bar nibbles and drinking games. This would make an excellent gift for any book- and drink-lover in your life!
review 2: I spent a fun couple hours this afternoon reading, laughing out loud and daydreaming about my next cocktail. This witty book includes dozens of cocktail recipes, such as a Romeo and Julep, a Rum of One's Own, etc. Book Clubs, take note: recipes for group-sized
... more batches (The Pitcher of Dorian Grey Goose) and bar snacks (I Know This Munch is True) will make your next meeting tastier. Bonus: at the back is a list of suggested drinking games to play with friends or alone ("Do a shot each time you look over your shoulder during 1984. Two shots if you get up to close the curtains.") This would make a great gift for your reading/drinking buddies. less
