Zane is a fierce warrior who doesn’t believe h... moree deserves to be loved because of what was drilled into him as a young man inside of a concentration camp. He has become a jaded, cold, violent vampire whose only motive in life is to kill those that wrong him and his family. He believes his heart can’t love again until he meets the young innocent Portia that tempts him like no woman ever has. Portia is a hybrid (half human, half vampire) determined to lose her virginity before her body set into its final vampire form. No man has ever made Portia body sizzle like Zane has and she is determine to learn more about the man than just a physical attraction. I am a huge fan of all the Scanguard books so this was no exception. But of all the books in the series, this book was the most beautifully written with a heartbreaking back story. Zane was scarred not only emotionally but mentally as well. Portia has her work cut out for him, trying to save Zane but it’s worth it in the end. To say that I enjoyed this book is an understatement. This book is a great addition to any PNR fan that loves, romance, excitement, a little suspense, some hot sex scenes and a HEA to top it off. less
