review 1: Such a good premise (I love when MCs meeting/connecting over email or snail mail at the start of a relationship), and the book started out really well, but then it jumped over important stuff like dates and even the weekend Ben and Jason met face to face--telling what happened in a few sentences, instead of showing--and then it skipped larger periods of time to the point that I lost a sense of the setting temporally. Also, in several scenes (which were very short, just like a blip on the radar, then gone, on to the next scene), there would be lots of conversation without signifying who was speaking, or having any info outside of the speaking, like facial expressions or anything to give an imagine of the scene or make the reader feel present. So basically, it was a good idea... more for a story (oh, how happy I was at the beginning!), but it went downhill pretty quickly after they met in person. Ben and Jason's time together and experiences should have been on page, taking us with them on their journey, instead of just told in a few sentences and skipped over. This could have been a brilliant book, but instead was too short, didn't flesh out the story enough or do it justice, and ended up being way off mark because of all this.
review 2: I liked the beginning a lot, how Ben and Jason met. They were sweet together but unfortunately as soon as they were together the reader gets rushed through the pages. Every conflict was solved very neatly and without further problems. I don't even know why the last...about 30 pages had to happen? It would have been better to end the story sooner. Yes, we were shown the life of Jason and Ben together, how Ben's life turned 180 within a year. But it got too saccharine and perfect at the end. It's still a sweet, easy read for inbetween. less

2 stars, minus one for the cover. Juvenile and sentimental and really pretty dumb.
