Since Eiichiro Oda, author of One Piece, already announced that a member of the Straw Hat Pirates will die in the series, people are now speculating who it might be. Although this announcement broke the hearts of many fans, including me, it was already destined to be done. However, looking at the brighter side, I believe that one member’s death will give birth to new interesting members of the Straw Hat Pirates.
New Straw Hat Members Revealed Possible Additional People to the Straw Hat PiratesThe following list of possible additionals to the Straw Hat Pirates is only based on my opinion. There is a huge possibility that only Jinbei will be invited to join Luffy’s crew.
1. Aokiji
We all know this dude has monstrous strength. If he will become one of Luffy’s crew, he will be one of the strongest fighters among the members. Right now, his strength may be far ahead of Luffy’s, but I know Luffy will get even stronger. Luffy may not reach Aokiji’s level in terms of strength, but at least, he will get closer.
I was thinking Aokiji may be invited by Luffy to join his crew in the future because I know Luffy will see Aokiji’s genuine personality. This ex-admiral may be really lazy, but he perfectly knows how to weigh things. I also think the reason why Oda made Aokiji resign from his post is he may join the Straw Hats soon, aside from Aokiji’s strong opposition to Akainu’s promotion as the fleet admiral.
2. Trafalgar Law
The alliance between the Straw Hat Pirates and the Heart Pirates is already creating a strong bond between the two pirate groups, especially between Luffy and Law. The two captains share a common goal of pulling down the current Yonkos. If they will be successful, which I know they will, their teamwork is something every new aspiring pirate will look forward to.
I have thought of Law who will, later on, join Luffy’s crew because I believe their alliance builds a promising power in the New World. He may not be typically “joining” the Straw Hat Pirates but as a sub-unit to Luffy’s crew, like what Bartolomeo and the others swore to Luffy after the Dressrosa’s incident. The Straw Hat Pirates fleet will eventually be like that of Whitebeard’s, or even larger. Not to mention Law as a warlord (shichibukai) now.
3. Boa Hancock
You haven’t forgotten about her, have you? This Pirate Empress who is the captain of the Kuja Pirates will make Luffy’s fleet even more influential. We all know she admires Luffy as a man, and she may join the Straw Hats in the future. Like the Heart Pirates, she may be a sub-unit to the Straw Hat Pirates too.
I already thought of her joining the Straw Hat Pirates because she sees Luffy as a good person, on top of her admiration for him. Well, Boa is a warlord too, so she is something to look forward to on board.
4. Dracule Mihawk
This is another warlord we are talking about here. Mihawk is the greatest swordsman in the One Piece series, which even Zoro acknowledges. In case Zoro is the member who will die, he will be a great replacement for Luffy’s crew, in terms of skills. He is not the type who likes so much commotion, and he also likes to be alone. So I think he will not literally be on board but just a reliable “friend” of the Straw Hats, especially if the crew is in need of combating help.
I have thought of Mihawk joining Luffy’s crew because he trained Zoro. I can also see he does not treat the Straw Hat Pirates as enemies. I can even feel he only likes peaceful sailing across the sea, minding his own business. But joining Luffy’s crew will not be a bad idea for him.
There you go! I have listed some great potentials as Luffy’s additional members. If the four of them will become true members, Luffy will be unbeatable and will definitely become the next Pirate King, although he will eventually. Who wouldn’t want warlords and an ex-admiral in your crew?
