review 1: Marshall has a lot going for him - he's smart, good looking, funny, talented - but what he doesn't have is Kim Penney, a girl who is so focused on her own goals that she literally doesn't know his name, in spite of living across the street and having three classes with him. When Kim's goals finally bring her into his orbit, Marshall tries to seize the opportunity only to find out that Kim is even more complicated than he realized. The characters are funny, likeable, and real. A very nice young romance. Highly recommended.-Lisa Hall Deckert
review 2: I have really fallen in love with T.J. Dell's books which is surprising since none of them fall into genres I am usually drawn to. I love her sense of humor and the laughs that pop up without warning. I've read all
... more her books so far and I think Smile for Me is my favorite. The characters remind me of people I knew in high school. Well, they remind me of my 15 year old memories of those people. Like the ideal versions of them. Personally, I relate most to Mandy whose part in the story is quite small. less
